Don't worry Ian, your car performs pretty well in it's present form.

Sadly no Hartge kit has arrived....therefor little chance of getting it fitted before Saturday. This is after Birds said it would be with me by last Friday, then Monday, Tuesday, Wendesday. Wednesday was cut off date. So I am not best pleased....In any case, looking forward to meeting up and having good day

I used octane booster the last time I went out - wouldn't recommend it though, have heard a variety of stories about engines going pop when using it. I'd just stick to what you normally use.

Well, there was an article in the Sunday about the claims made for these special petrols. They took a car on a rolling road running on ordinary unleaded and these 'better' petrols and found no difference in perfomance. The conclusion was that you pay out extra for nothing.
But I guess the only way to know is try it an see if you notice a difference.

Out of interest - Whats the prefered Go-Go juice for track days, Premium of some sort I suppose (Stop all that pre detonation etc) no point in cheapo 95.  A friend tried the new shell V Power in an E39 2.2 auto and said there was a considerable difference and it nowhere near premium prices

Will be on fumes tomorrow evening so any advice appreciated.

don't think so - just a spectator. Wouldn't fancy having to fork out any extra cash on the car at the moment!!

I managed (with Mr. Barry's expert assistance) to get a few small token gifts from BMW Irl. for the day! Just picked them up a while ago!

as it's a 'better driving day', formal timing of laps wouldn't be in the spirit and may encourage a competitive element.  but informal timing by yourself or others is fair game.

Will there be a timing system in use on the day.  I'd be curious to see how she goes - non sport, soggy suspension and 15" rims with 205s. (New on the rear much to my disgust)

If I get the funds together, over the next 12 months I would like to change the suspension, brakes, wheels and also carry out that intake manifold mod along with the bigger throttle bodies.

It'd be great to have a history of how the changes actually affect the onraod performance rather than the rolling road saying you scored an extra 30-40bhp.  No better comparrison than going out stock, then doing the suspension wheel work - out again then do the engine mod.

Are we getting tickets in the post like the May event, or do we show up with our receipts for payment on Sat?

I am of the opinion that this will not be the case. I expect a number of people to turn up on the day which will allow us to cover the final costs.

Any top-up fees required from entrants, do you think?

Numbers are still prohibitively low to cover all costs so it is looking like the National is the one for us unfortunatley.

My hopes of getting a sponsor to cover costs for the day fell through.

Anyway, if everyone can be in Mondello between 12:30 and 1pm, we will get registration and all the other formalities done with cars on track at 2pm!
