Geoff, it sure looked like you were having fun, I had to
laugh everytime you went down the straight putting
the frighteners on the more modern stuff around you.

[QUOTE=Don520]Gold/beige E30 which while looking like a boggo 318i was able
to keep up with all manner of more advanced
machinery and was driven with flair and aggresion.
What engine was in this car?

Its a 325i automatic - great fun to drive considering its 18 years old!

Geoff

I have few dodgy pictures and a video where I spent half of the lap cursing at the b****d in his 106 that I couldn't keep up with!

zm coupe did you have a look at the differential connection to the subframe as It seems to be a weak structural point on our car (same part as the E30 but 130hp more and the car is at least 300kg heavier), even more so on yours, with your driving style and the power you have to put on the road. I found this out on different american website, if you are interested I'll pm you links.

Personnally as I said it was a great day, but I think the clutch is on its way out! well, it will be the opportunity to put a lighter flywheel in!

Will do.  Ger came out with me and that made a huge difference.  I got an unofficial lap time so it will be interesting to see how the changes affect that.  Standard, suspension with 205s on 15s really weren't up to the job

I was getting braver towards the end also - thats why I decided to stay in for the last 20mins, "needed the car on Monday morning syndrome set in"

If it was - NICE driving even with you messing it was taking everything my watermattress suspension could give to keep up.

I think the first purchase will have to be a new suspension setup

Martin, that was my first time on track, as it was for you i think. I'm gonna claim it was me anyway(drifting)...cheers

I was getting braver every time i went out, great buzz and spent most of my time grinning and laughing with my mate, as Mr. BF Goodrich screamed in pain. Not much between us all the same, dropping your car should make a big difference. It was good to meet you and keep us posted on your mods

Killian

I have several shorts.  About 5MB each, you might need to dub over some of the language and that peasky 106 got in alot of them.  Any prblems if I send them all together.

Its so well balanced and smooth that Dave even managed to fit a battery to his own cars alarm remote while I was at the end of the rack  in 4th gear!

Killian - Feel free to use any of my (dodgy) pics.

I have to say i'm a big fan of the E30 and those Hartge wheels look sweet on your motor Barry. Was trying to find a similar split rim option for my E36 but very hard to come across. Really i should be concentrating on sorting new suspension and bushes first......but can't help myself now that i've got the beast!
