Just though i would pass on some feedback on my rolar coaster of triumph and disaster regarding my brakes and wheels.

The Bad news,

While the 16" wheels could be made to fit over the 850 brakes it required such a large set of spacers that the wheel could not reach the hub meaning that the wheel would not centre properly. Therefore the wheels would not safely fit over the brakes. Also with the spacers on the wheels stuck out so far they looked very strange.

So it was decided to remove the 850 brakes and revert back to standard.

The good news

I now have my car suited and booted with the proper 16" black centred alpina's and the brakes are working well. one thing i did not bother to take of was the uprated master cylinder from the 750 and i would say the results are very nice as there is no severe pedal movement that all sixes suffer from before the brakes come in. Now the brakes feel much more like a later model e39/e43 car for touching the brake pedal and you feel something there.

So i now have the car looking how i want it, but have spent a small fortune on a brake conversion and three months later am back on original brakes.
