Keep meaning to do this . Looking at the Euro Tunnel site , a booking for friday to Monday is something like £185 . Book to go Friday morning and come back Friday night is about £35 . What a huge rip-off !
So I thought about booking a day return on the Euro Tunnel for the trip and and not bothering with the reurn half , and then booking a day return for the ferry starting at Calais . The web sites will quote you to do this , I just don't know if they send the tickets to you , or you collect when booking in . If you have to give an address for them to post them , I don't see them sending them to me in the UK when I've just told them I'm coming from Calais .

Brian
It quoted £144, which i thought was ok then when i went further jumped up to £187, like what's the jump for?
If you booked online you should get a ref no. and would have thought that would be enough?

just booked Friday 25th 7.58am
Hopefully nobody at check in will get suspicious when we all go for a "day trip". So please do NOT mention that Germany is our destination
Usually I come back with Seafrance on another "day trip".

Do you book the return tickets in advance Uwe , do they post them to you or ask questions about why you live in the UK but will travel from calais to Dover ?

As I am not going back sunday I will just go to a travel agent in Germany and book a trip. Online booking should just give you a ref number, no tickets anymore. Just don't use the tunnel again

Hi Guys,
Just booked the train, £123.00. Not to bad.
Out on Friday 08.00 25th return Sunday 27th.
How about all meeting at Thurrock services JNC 30 M25 to travel down to the tunnel togather as a possible meeting point.

Ok , booked a day return for the 0758 today at £38. Getting a day return from Calais back home is tricky . The ferry companies are wise to people from the UK trying to book like this , and won't let you book from the websites . There's an easy £100 saving somewhere here ....... just got to find it

You can buy a ticket there and then once in Calais , thing is it costs about £160 for a single.......This is how mad ferry pricing is .

I agree Uwe. Everyone will have an early start to be at the Chunnel for 0728 . Why waste time getting to a meeting point and waiting ? If everyone just makes sure they are at the Chunnel on time ...... no problems.

You can't do a full flying lap of the Ring on a public day ,as you start half way down the main straight and end about 400 yards from where you joined the track.
Most guys on public days time their laps from a bridge just after the start and end it at a gantry just before the end . These are called BTG ( bridge to gantry )times .
If someone tells you a BTG time , then reckon on adding about another 25 secs for a full lap time. I don't know many times for E30 M3s , but I have seen a guy called Espen in a video do about 8:30 BTG which is quick .
