Hi all, I've checked this doesn't clash with any M3 events but if this isn't in the right place, mods please move/delete as appropriate. This will be a rolling road day looking at the differences between all the E30 M3s and 320is that share the lovely S14 The day will be held at Northampton Motorsport http://83.138.170.26/northamptonmotorsport/ on the 20th May, starting at 9.00am and costs £30 each. Max of 35 cars with just the 1 power run each which measures power (both wheels and fly) and torque with a graph printout. For the mag feature we'll focus on about 15 cars (most likely ranging from standard to mild and wild mods). Those who would like to attend, could you post here (or PM if you'd rather) with name, car, engine derivative, mods (if any), mileage and just to be really anal - type of fuel used. Oh and if you could post what kind of power and torque you're expecting, that would be cool. Any questions, please feel free to ask away as I'm sure I've missed something 1. Team TBMW and The Ewok - non-cat 200bhp model, Supersprint Race system, BTB prototype DTM manifold, DTM-style carbon airbox, Catcams 283/283 cams, Alpha N, 178,000 Kms, Optimax. Anticipated results - 240bhp, 185lbf.ft torque. 2. Kevin McNally M3 Evo2, standard, 108,000 kms, Optimax. Anticipate/ hope for 220 bhp and 180 lb/ft torque. 3. Steve Singleton, Sport Evo with Motec EMS and Milltek exhaust. Anticipate 190BHP@ Wheels (240@fly) 180 bl/ft torque. 4. Simon & Tony Oke - 1988 E30 320is, 64000kms, standard apart from SuperSprint exhaust, runs on Optimax, not sure on outputs but would hope for 180ish at the flywheel (150ish at the wheels). 5. Simon 1990 M3 215bhp, 175000km, Supersprint race exhaust, rest standard, would like to see 215bhp! Oh, run on normal Shell unleaded as optimax is hard to find around here! 6. Julz Angell...1987 M3 153,000Km, 195bhp CAT all standard on regular BP unleaded fuel. Anticipate standard figures or thereabouts. 7. Uwe Brunzel 1987 M3 230k kms with engine rebuild. Stock EVO3 bottom end, 215 head, 48mm throttles, EVO3 Valve Springs, 290/290 KK cams, stock exhaust no cats, MAXX ALpha-N with stock air filter, 330cc injectors. Optimax or any other 98 ROZ petrol. Last dynoed with 248bhp and 200lbs(without AN) 8. Jonathan Sharratt. '88 320is, 210k KMs, Alpha-N, CF airbox, Bartolli backbox, Optimax fuel. Anything between 140-180 at the wheels!!!! I also have a '88 M3 EVO II which i might bring as well if i get it working by then. 80k miles, standard engine. 9. John Howell, 1988 M3 149,000km schrick cams 285/285,Alpha-N cf airbox, supersprint exhaust, optimax, last dyno 254bhp @ flywheel, no reading for torque but would expect about 175/180. 10. Dave Gamble, 1987 Tracked prepped M3 2.5L, with Schrick 284`s, CF airbox, split injection, MBE, BTB single exhaust, no cats. Optimax - 272BHP and 211.6 lbs 11. Dave DMX 2.5 Sport Evo engine approx 35k on rebuild. Shrick 284/ 272(E3). 215 manifold, miltec, Optimax and who knows what management. Currently the Motec is not installed and running std setup but the wiring is all still there, if the guy who wants to buy it hasn't taken it i'll hook it back up. Last dyno 260bhp / 190t at Powerstation (optimistic?) Wouldn't expect more than 240 if the Montronic is on it though. 12. Martin Howard-Smith. 90k Sport Evo with 284/276 cams Maxx A/N and CF Airbox. Last dyno run was 244 @crank and 181 torque on Bexleys dyno. The car was mapped on 95 ron, but I run it on Optimax. 13. Skh - schrick cams 284s, CF airbox, Alpha N management, 3.73 diff, groupA oil pan, car runs on BP Ultimate as available locally. total miles 127k 14. Paul Shepherd. Its a standard Evo2 with a Dastek Uni-Q fitted and AFM removed. Dunno what power to expect as had some issues recently with it, but should be atleast standard 220BHP. Made 226BHP and 170ftlbs ATF on Dasteks rollers when Gerry mapped it. Was mapped on BP Ultimate, but running on Tesco's 97 at the moment. 15. Aaron Weddell. 1986 E30 M3, standard except Milltek exhaust with (drum roll please) 300,000km on the clock. I'd expect about 185bhp at the fly. And possibly to have the lowest reading of the day! 16. Dan Sutton E30 M3 1990 (215 late model with cat) standard, 220k. Optimax ar any 98 RON. Hope to beat 200 fly wheel hp from last run (dodgy ecu replaced!) 17. Nick Dalton - 1989 195bhp with a Milltek and recent rebuild, but otherwise standard. Optimax and 230,000km. Anything over 180 flywheel would be welcome! 18. had a little browse on Northampton Motorsports website.
They offer quite a lot of other stuff too. Might be worth talking to them if they would just do a setup to weigh our cars on the day. No adjustments, just on the scales and corner weights and total weight printed out. Wouldn't mind to pay a little extra for that. Nick? |

Cheers Dave, added you to the list. Uwe, it's certainly a possiblity but I just think it will complicate things... we'll probably be struggling for time as it is (depending on final numbers obviously) although there is the potential to do this at the end if there is time. |

Nick, I maybe up for this with my Evo2. Although there is a little attention needed before I can commit. BTW my full name is Paul Shpeherd. Edited by SHEPSM3 |

Guys, Made a slight cockup on this one... I've actually got another event to attend that day Obviously I'd like to be there with the Ewok but I don't want to have to alter the date just to suit my needs, so what do people want to do? Move the date forward a week perhaps or stick to it and I'll send a freelancer along...? |
