Well...only had 83bhp according to the RR at the time!
I think I've still got the timing sheets so I'll dig them out to check the times...
Although Brands Indy isn't a power circuit at all...In fact, when I
raced a Hillman Hunter GLS back in the 80s I (with around 125bhp and in
road trim) I could manage around 59s
I've also watched a Classic Saloon race with a Mini winning outright (beating the Galaxies, Mustangs and Lotus Cortinas)....

Wow! that adds over 3secs to a lap plus whatever the advance in machinery/driver skill is, too....
Gonna have to get myself to Brands soon, then, to try it out....
Last time I was there was 1999 when I was competing in the Fiat Challenge in a Mk1 Uno with a massive 83bhp at the wheels and I managed to wheel it round in 58.5 or so...Only that was a good 3.5 secs off the front row at the time...

My friend raced in the porsche club champs last year and lapped in the mid 55's in his 968 £35k race car, previous to that he was runner up in the porsche cup so not a slow driver, the track must have slowed or you had more than 83bhp ??

In 1999 Graham Hill Bend was re-profiled, now a much tighter and slower corner.

Really?
Has the circuit slowed THAT much since the mid-late 90s?
I did 52.3 round there in 95ish in my 02...That was good for 4th on the grid with pole being (E30 M3) around 51.2ish....

not that I every timed it as it's not allowed on track days, but I think I never got under a minute. More like 1.03-1.05 (Goodyear F1 one rear in 225/45 the other in 245/45 ) and stock 195bhp car.

Shouldn't be a problem
I wish
I'll be running 1/2 tank min of fuel all day to avoid fuel starvation if swirl pot isn't fitted by then.
Gonna check out Khumho times though.

We did the 14/3 and was a good day (weather held off).
Cannot do the 29/3 but some of us have booked for the 18/4, our last track day before the ring at the end of May.

I've managed to convince my boss to give me the afternoon off work... so I'll pop down. Car's still not ready for track unfortunately but I'll bring my lid with me in case anyone needs some ballast to stabilise their cars...

I`ll second that on the weather.
I am down to a set of miss matched semi-slick yoko 32r`s and a set of full slick`s.If it rains I`m in the sh*t or gravel

That`s very true.I was more than happy with mine when it was a standard 2.3 @217bhp,but as I blew it up and had to rebuild it anyway so I thought why not? I`ll give you a few passenger laps in it and you can tell me if it was worth it.

Cheers Jon, that would be nice, i will take you out in mine as you get a bit more time to look around and see the sights
