I have been round it a number of times (usually as a passenger in various racing cars). It can be fast! Very fast!

PDC is the Performance Driving Centre where for 200 yoyos (300 for advanced) you can get ~ 10 laps in a rover 25 Gti (5 with instructor driving you and 5 with you driving) and then about 10-15 laps in a single seater (rev limited (4k?)rover gti engine). It is good craic but you are released in 5-10 second intervals so you dont race [I have done it a couple of times with marshals and managed to get black flagged last time for racing!].

We have rented the national circuit (see dark section of pic [ignore D-numbers]). The international section will possibly be used by the PDC.

To work out at about 100 yoyos per person then we would need about 30

Numbers are still low for comfort (~16-17). Not sure if it is just a reluctance to fork the money in advance...

By next week we'll have to start really pushing for sign ups...

Mondello Park is about 25 miles SW of Dublin near Naas Co Kildare - it is relatively easily accessed by road with dual carriageway or motorway most of the route.

Portwise - you have both Dublin and Dun Laoghaire (often spelt Dun Laoire) (see ferry routes on map1). Dun Laoghaire may be the easiest for you as you aren't passing through the city. In terms of accommodation try looking at the the AA website for decent places near Naas Co. Kildare or in Dublin itself (more expensive in every way).

Are you coming? Let us know when and Im sure someone can meet you at the port (the Irish Authorities have a phobia about erecting road signs)

In terms of getting used to the track you can either go to www.mondello.ie or http://mrmci.com/track.asp (see national track)

By the way - have been fairly reliably informed that Mondello don't rent out helmets anymore - so you'll need your own!
