Would that be like your "lovely" £1800 635 then?

Oh yes they do!!! My brothers '99 Merc CLK has had warranty work done on the rear arches & is now getting a new front wing!!!

Also, there are any number of E36 owners who've found the rust bug hasn't been banished completely.

Fransesco

it seems the discussion drifted from the theme - and dare i say your last point is right. But here goes the answer to your initial question

I have an 87 635csi exactly the same colour and it;s -as per the papers that come with the car-  cirrus blue.

BMW's = garbage.

Serious body rot and welding after 3 years - junk.

Severe bore wear - junk.

Cracked heads - junk.

Have BMW ever made a really, really good car??

I don't think they have!

Thinking back, the 6 Series was a piece of rubbish.

I DO remember those being rotten at 4 years old!!

Thank God for the Italians to build a decent car.
Funny how my 28 year old Merc has no rust though!!

It be black, hairy and I be afraid of it!

"985000 kms 3,5 l engine taken from a 735i and still
running good despite the last oil change done at
about 200000kms...)"

So let me get this right............

An old M30 engine with 600'000 miles.

Running on the same oil for 440'000 miles.

And still running eh?

About as likely as a rotten 4 year old BMW.

What's Italian for 'Comedy?'.

You should know! So, why did you buy one then? Did the blue Draylon interior remind you of your mothers 3-piece suite?

Absolutely!!   :-)

But a 6 Series expert will say it's cloth, not draylon!

Sold it yesterday for £2200, but enjoyed owning it.

A mint one owner 22k 450SL? Yours for £16'000.

Never painted, rusted, welded.

After all, that's about 3 Highlines. Start saving!!!

Mind you, at Geordie wages I can't wait 20 years!!!!!

That complete kack

Mercs rust way more than BM's do always have dun, We have had 98 and 99 year with rust on the panels at work and the trim is kack.

The 6 is a great car and one off the best BMW's ever. Fact

Tha Alfas are good cars, but you need the AA or some sort off cove to get you home cuss thay will break down. thay rust more than untreated steal.

My m30 is on 170K and runs like a dream with no oil barning, and have never had a welders torch near it {yet}

BMW are better made cars. better than merc's and far better than Alfas. I see a lot of cars and it the Alfa that laging behined.

and if you all wash your cars propley thay would not rust

Reply to N1kelg:Cirrus blue took the place of Baltic and they are very very very similar...but a little light.

Reply for  my dear ady77:

I don't think they have!  Thinking back, the 6 Series was a piece of rubbish.

Yeah , I guess why BMW headquarter haven't yet declared bankruptcy(right , or it's  bankrupt?) or haven't stopped the car's production..

huuuuuuh, Now I remember : cause "BMW sold rust copyright to italians , who perfected it."

I DO remember those being rotten at 4 years old!!
Thank God for the Italians to build a decent car.
Funny how my 28 year old Merc has no rust though!!

opinions are like "the balls", any man has its own..

"985000 kms 3,5 l engine taken from a 735i and still

So let me get this right............
An old M30 engine with 600'000 miles.
Running on the same oil for 440'000 miles. Quite right , just some fillup when the owner remembered that the engine was not sealed for life
And still running eh? If You give me Your e-mail address, I can send you a little movie about that car starting at the first time every time, and idling smoothy with a/c on at about 750rpm..
About as likely as a rotten 4 year old BMW.
What's Italian for 'Comedy?'.

the italian translation for comedy is this(I try in my bad english): "Ady77 has a working Alfa...."

I hope I solved Your translation problems and the obscure side of this bad BMW world...

reply for 1066BMW:

and if you all wash your cars propley thay would not rust

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi sisco,

Is Baltic Blue a solid or metallic colour?

My 1985 735i is Metallic Cosmos blue. This colour was superceded by Cirrus blue.

You left the back door unlocked, therefore Squatters Rights apply.

You will now need a court order & an army of bailiffs to get the squatters out.
