Aye Paul - if Tut and Co. go then we'll see some proper fast Elises.. not the granny drivers we saw..

Colin is talking about a sports car event and I suggested he get good support from the Lotus, TVR and POrsche boys to ensure good numbers and then bring in some ad hoc stuff. Should be good.

I'm still mulling over the 323 Turbo

They are hopefully running another event this summer and I expect the Scottish_Elises will attend in force.

Best part was she coudl go out for 20-30 laps without complaint as the Alpfas, TVRs, 7s and Lotuses cooled off in the paddock..

Don't think so Tob - got it on film - they'll have been the Elises I was catching routinely then... They were being driven (how can I put it) 'conservatively' and really slow straight line.. Yosh and Rog will confirm.

By the avo 8LUR probably 2nd or 3rd fastest car on the day - can't take the credit - it's all her... Was a lot of slower cars (particuarly the Alfisti, Caterhams and 2CV) so you tended to bunch up as there we were only allowed to overtake on the straights and not under braking - which is a pity as 8LUR was braking nicely.

Paul only really fast car on the day and you could tell he was still learning with her.. Also a Pulsar GTI-R and a Clio Sport that were none too shabby and Neil Menzies in his Chimera was pretty fast in small stints but he was never out long enough to follow properly. 911 was being driven slow - which was a pity!

You'd have gutted most of the pack in your project M3 Tob.

Steve - Just watched your big movie again. Some nice shots of 8LUR pulling away.. I'm just glad you didn't have paddle changes..

I see that black Caterham and red Alfa Junior were holding you up as well.. not sure if it was inexperience or perhaps they just didn't like our German road cars poo-pooing their party... for about 2-3 laps I lost loads of time because of them - that Caterham wouldn't budge over on the straights.. funny as he was trying, as we all saw, when he spun out at the hairpin.. (not that I'd ever do such a thing).

Took me a while to get into a flow and probably shaved about 5-10 secs off my times by the avo.. great day.. great fun. Only then did I overstep the boundaries on the tyres. Perhaps I shoudl have played with pressures byt the B'stones just washed out a bit early in places. Was getting no more than 106 on the straights with Yosh in pax.. a 17 stone weight penalty made for about 10-15 mph deficit on the straight aways....

Was impressed when you rolled out your good wheels for the event.. but can be an expensive way to do it.. I'd buy a set of spares for track if you're going to do it reguarly.

Aye - EF a cracking track, I'm sure Javelin would run a day for us and MMC would give us permission but we'd struggle for numbers and cost perhaps too high for some palettes.. but for the money Crail is still a good giggle... either that or you and Yosh short at Knockers but that's a technical circuit and he knows/drives it very well whereas it'll be a level playing field at Crail.

Me - that smooth, nae virginal, black top was worth every pound!!

What I'm going to do now is book the bodyshop straight after a track day.. just in case. I have a number of a great guy if you need any blemish removal.

Good to see you there Malc, pity you couldn't get into the pits as I have quite a few times where the PAX seat was free as Yoshi was feeling ill after the second stint in 8LUR....

Starting to worry about the surface at Crail now  Did minimal damage to my tyres on the surface at East Fortune whereas previously Crail has been known to chew tyres

Got 3 bodyshops quoting 8LUR in next 24 hours.. costs will dictate my next outing.. but June 25th on regardless.... for I will have satisfaction...

Steve - you're gonan have a great battle against Yoshi at Crail - by then he'll be running trick suspensioon, diff and 450bhp..let the battle of the black behemoths commence.. Germany v Japan... coooooool.

Me - well I'll be going to hunt Donato and his ultra cool RX7 amongst other things..

Give them a call for further info. I don't know if I'm going yet, hopefully I can get all sorted but will not know until tomorrow.

No need to worry Jon, after the throttle pedal was fixed I wouldn't have been in your mirrors long
