What made you "emigrate" up north?



Basically although born and bred on IOW I was starting to hate it cos of things that had happened, so not having family or anyone, I decided to move to York to be nearer friends and cos I used to stay up this way with relatives when I was a kid.

Well I was fortunate when working on the lorries, and in my spare time too was able to visit some superb places over the years...

Germany, Austria, France, Luxembourg, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand (inc Phuket), Bali, Morroco, Tunisia..and a few others.

Last holiday I went on that was abroad was the Oktoberfest in Munich in 2001 when I drove one of my Supra's there and back, was brilliant too, excellent atmosphere and would love to go again one day.

"Yes Sir, wedding or engagement?"
"Wedding, tha nos", he said, chewing constantly.
"Gold or Silver?", said the salesgirl, watching him chewing.
"Gold", he said.
"Eighteen Carats?", said the girl.
"Nay lass", he said. "It's toffee and it's stuck in me teeth".

Must have taken ages to drive a truck from HK back to Blighty

Joking aside I would love to visit all those places as well as Australia & NZ, Japan and Canada among others.
