Today started OK but has slipped downhill ever since. York is also home to the IGNORED speedbump too Owen...such as the ones on the road I live in...clever planners up here decided in their infinite wisdom to leave gaps tween the bumps, rather than have a continuous one across the road. The gaps are spaced at the average wheelbase width on 90% of cars/vans, so some drivers ignore them altogether and go belting down the road like lunatics

Yep, infact when you come into York on the train, there used to be a bill-board with a picture of a Yorkie bar on with the 'ie' torn off..
Though what with Terry's closing and Rowntree been taken over by Nestlé some yeas ago - I don't know how long the chocky business will last in York. ..lived there for several years, and have seen the smog - not very nice. Fantastic! I fell about reading that, especially like the translations. I've been working on the accent after watching re-runs of Alan Partridge and that Geordie mate of his who ran the service station. Its a good job I can translate that and know what you actually said then.
