I think you are right. It will inevitably lead to people getting personal and slagging each others cars off. Isn't that what always happens when someone brings up the question E30 M3 or E36 M3...which is best?

Isn't it just better to accept that we all have different tastes and all look for different things in our cars.

It was however very foolish to come on the forum and slag of the E30 M3. Talk about walking into the lions den with a lump of raw meat tied to your head! Big Smile

It's sad indeed as the thread originally talked about the strengths of the 330ci vs the M3 with no humiliation involved and the very fortunate choice of choosing between 2 cars vs 1 E46 M3. I think there was lots of respect all-round for the various cars discussed until a few decided to cast this it into E30 derision which was only going to spark the reraction of the many E30 owners on this forum. Perhaps we can move onto comparisons between the E30/E36 and E46 M3 or perhaps E36 v E46 2.8/3.0. However I fear these issues are too emotive for some..

I will ask one of the mods to close the thread so we can continue the rational debate elsewhere. Apologies to the original author of this thread.

That's 'why is this pleb muttering incoherent dribble'. I think you'll find you're the minority in your views..

Helpful hint: If you want to talk about M cars then you are most welcome.. if you want to bore us about your Z3, and slag off M cars, then there are many forums available catered for your needs.  If however you continue to be offensive to members of this forum then I suspect you will be moderated very quickly.

M8 - if it had been a Z3M you wouldn't have any hair left as it would have been ripped clean off your head by the forward thrust..

Handbags at dawn.. Let's stop there before I call in the Mods.

Familiarity has been unkind to the Z3 but anyone who say's it's ugly doesn't know good car design. Okay it's a bit of a retro pastiche but it works. Dynamically it has some shortcomings but the ZM was as good as many an M car and the MCoupe could teach the M3 a thing or 2. Closest thign BMW ever got to a reliable German TVR and nowt much wrong with that.

and let's not hear any more bad things about the E30 M3.

Coming from the person who drives a car made up of left over E30 parts...

And E30 I hear was left overs of E21 ....with the added bonus of a Widecombe aesthetics!
