the Ring is a great experience and the whole atmosphere makes it a well worth trip. You won't be disappointed I can promise you this. Are you coming along to the S14 meet?

Well you got to start somewhere

Will definately know within the next 2-3 weeks, looks like I will need to do those jobs I promised around the house to earn those brownie points afterall.

Will check out the ferry and hotels already mentioned on this thread but I guess I need to be sort of quick about it.

Just checked some ticket prices for ferries, check out www.scferrybookings.co.uk/hoverspeed/direct

23/6/05 10am outbound - 28/6/05 12.45pm return on Seacat with return saver for 1 or 2 adults was quoted at £115.64 - seemed reasonable. Now just need to check out the hotels, or bring along some camping gear.

I sent 2 emails to the Zur-Burg Hotel for this weekend and have not had a reply back to either. Is anyone else having difficulties in booking?

Yep, looks like I am going, will be in convoy, probably about 4 of us all bringing our own cars (all e30 M3s). Thought about hotels but after talking to friend decided to go for the camping option instead.

Did send some emails to hotels initially but similar problem as 215m3 so camping it is. Saying that not much info (unless you speak german) regarding campsites there, only one mentioned is Mullenbach?
Not sure if you have to pre-book or you can just turn up - any info would be helpful.

Getting ferry booked through this website of all places, Dover - Calais return £69

215m3 - hope you get your accommodation sorted soon and hope to meet up with you all.

Kevin,

Good news. Glad you are able to make it. You won`t believe seeing 130+ E30 M3`s all gathered togather at one point. Every available option and modification, wheels, colour, some track toys, and best of all - Top company, irrespective of what language you speak.

Take lots of film or memory sticks as you will need it.

Regards,

Dave.

Kevin. I'm guessing this is the site you have already seen ? www.camping-am-nuerburgring.de

At 25 Euro per night for a cheap single hotel room within the Ring , you've got to love camping to want to go that route

I've used this place before and apart from it not being in Nurburg village, it's otherwise very nice , cheap and the owners are very helpful and speak very good English. http://www.pension-muehlenhardt.de/

Flex the credit card and join in Mike

There's an Oldtimer meet on the GP track for that weekend, so things may be a little busier and hotels booked-up earlier. Getting a single room some place local is usually the biggest problem if you leave it late. Try the place I listed in my last post. They are within the track and about 2 miles from Nurburg village . I've stayed there a few times and I've always been more than happy with the service, rooms and with how helpful Edgar the owner is to his guests. That place is also about as cheap as they get.

Yep, that's the one BMG.

But will check out the hotel you mentioned first and if places still available will consult with the others - like you said 25 Euros per night is very good. Thanks for the info.

Yes Dave, can't wait - bigger flash card is in order I think.

mmmm this could be tight..

Potential weekend looks like this

Friday Goodwood  - Festival of Speed

Saturday Paris - Wedding

Sunday Nurburgring  - first "track" experience

Does anyone know how long from Paris to the ring... at the limit?(Speed limit not the rev limit!!)

It sounds like something i shouldn't miss.

Thanks Piers and Uwe for the distance / warning.

Still sounds like something that needs to be done and a great excuse to do my first trackday here in the UK before i go.

See y'all on the sunday!

Hi Martin,

Might be a blessing, try this BMW website instead - go to the events page and you will see a thread to book your ferry here, ended up being the cheapest I can find.

Sorry, forgot to mention where I am finally booking from.

Re: Pension Mulenhardt, Edgar is indeed a nice chap, however, this year he has decided that certain 'fully open Ring w/e ' he will only accept bookings from people staying 4 nights. Which is a bit of a pain. I tried to book for the S14.de meet w/e at Easter but he was having none of it despite me being one of his regulars. I have had to find lodgings elsewhere for every one of my remaining 2005 trips. By all means give him a try but I think the fact that a big race meeting is taking place will mean he can effectively charge the four nights even if people only stay 2 or 3.

Been doing just that Dave. Fitted ( well ok, Jake did all the work while I didn't do much ) a pair of anti roll bars yesterday. Also have some new control arms coming and some Powerflex bushes for the arms.Handling is now much improved and I'm keen to try it out on the track.

I owe Jake a huge amount of beer for the roll bars and the fitting of. You know if you can make it to the Ring for the meet, then you are more than welcome to do some lapping in the much improved 'red shed'

Dave. I have a couple of bits for you in my car. Do you need them ASAP, or will when I collect some bits from you suffice ?
