As long as it's not been registered anywhere before, then I believe you could have a E30 M3 on any plate .K L M N .....
I'm sure I read somewhere ,that the only problem with this, is that the car would be classed as a new car and as such would have to meet any regulations for the year you are registering it for .I.e an E30 M3 wouldn't meet crash regulations, emissions etc etc now, so you couldn't register it now. The date built means nothing much . How long do you think Ford keep cars parked up before they register them .Built in 2003 doesn't mean it's going to get a 2003 plate in they register it in 2005 . Imagine the predicament BMW would be in, say they had released facelift model and they still had a stockpile of pre-facelift somewhere.

Thats basically the deal m3cecotto. I work in a Ford dealership as a Ford Technician but I must admit we don't see many 'old' vehicles being sold as new ones. Most of the old spec cars get shipped of to be rental vehicles for a while. Pikey |

My tin top M3 is on a J plate, despite being built in Dec '90. It sat in the showroom until it was registered in Sept '91, hence a J when it came to the UK. I have had a little grief with some insurers, as their computers tell them that a J plate M3 tin top can't exist but only when they say 'computer says no!' I've not seen the beige leather in this country before, was it an option? Maybe I've not seen enough M3's :o) Mags |
