There is another company called speed ferries. They go further down into France but prices have been very good when I checked last time

Uwe. This is who I used to come back with after last years s14 meet. Their service was fantastic. With the time saved by taking the Speed Ferries SeaCat there is not a lot of difference between this and the slow ferry to Calais ....apart from the price saving

Yep, I used Speedferries last weekend... Fantastic service I must say.

I hope to see you all this Friday. Watch out for my Black 320iS with Bulgarian Plates on. Will be joined by Andy Boy in his 320i 4-door, Matt in his Porsche 928 S4 Slush Box and another E36 M3. Can't wait...

How`s the car going, ??????

cheers,

lol, I'll get my coat.

Car's going great, thanks. Probably about 90% now, just needs some more little things doing.

I found the cause of the poor braking... My O/S/F brake hose had blistered, under pressure it leaked. Car managed to pass an MOT with this problem though!!!

Don't quote me exactly on this but the only weekend in June where the Ring is open friday to monday is the last weekend. That's my guess. It will no doubt be confirmed sometime soon.

What a weekend! Being my first time there, I totally enjoyed myself, taking in all the action and getting on the track for a handful of laps.

Kevin, good seeing you and the back end of you E30, nice driving and thanks for the tips and saying hi.

There were a group of Irish guys there and they were a bunch of stars!! Barry, I believe this was your group. A big THANK YOU to Connor, who took me for a ride in his E36 M3 and showed me the way it is supposed to be done. And also to Dom, who generously gave me a ride in his 911 GT3 RS....WHAT A CAR!!!!!!

Looking forward to the next time.

Just a quick note, Gill & I are now back home after an absolutely wonderful weekend.

We covered 2700 kms since leaving on Thursday morning. Over half of that on the ring as we managed 71 laps of the NS on an annual ticket, so all future laps will be "free".

It was great to finally met Jake who seemed to take on the role of photographer so hopefully we will see some shots soon. A big thumbs up to Brian for getting Jake there and then lettting Jake drive his car on the 'ring. Darren it was good to see you. Martin, hope you got home ok, sorry we missed you Monday morning. Finally a big, big thanks to John for a passenger lap in his awesome car. The power of the engine and the brakes is just light years away from mine.

The only incident we experienced was when the engine started running poorly when cold, it sounds like it was only firing on 3 cylinders but once warmed up it was running ok again. Later in the day it started missing again and after an interesting lap when having power seemed to be a random event I pulled the distributor cap and found that the rotor arm had trashed itself. It was amazing it ran at all. Once I slapped on the spare it was back to business as usual.

Sorry for the fuzzy photo.

Can't wait for the next trip.

Will post more photos from the weekend

I had a fantastic few days at the Ring and even the weather was good for the most part.Met up with Kevin and Gill, Martin, John and Jake at the Pistenklause in the evening for dinner and a few beers and to chat about the days driving and to talk Nurburgring , M3's and Sabine Schmitz.

The GP track was open on the Saturday which was a welcome free addition, but not a track I found suited for the M3 really, so much so that a lot of people used the old pit lane entrance to avoid using it.

There was a nice looking Sport Evo with a cage and MoTeC out, along with a silver M3 on Hartge wheels driven in spectacular style.

I also managed to blag a ride in Johns very well sorted 300 bhp+ M3 running 6 pot AP's ,which is just amazing now he has the brakes to match the power.

Here's a link to a good site which stacks of pics of the weekend

Roll on the s14 meet at the Ring . I for one need to go again soon Ring pics site
