An update
I have removed both front struts today. To get the wishbone removed on the passenger side the exhaust manifold inpeeded access so i removed the ARB and this made the job so much easier.
Both wishbones are off. The track rod ends are so stuck on i'll get the garage to replace these.
While the ARB is off i'll paint the parts where the paint has flaked off as well as the brackets.
The tie rod arms will get repainted. Along with the wishbone bracket and new poly bushes put in place.
I need to remove the studs from the old hub as i am replacing the hubs as well.
All the nuts and bolts will be replaced with new parts.

I have today removed all the gubbing for the electric roof and will start to remove the casing soon. I still have the wiring to remove and half of the wiring from under the steering wheel to see where they go to.
Cleaned up the ARB, ARB brackets, wishbone bracket and trackrod end/ wishbone bracket the strut bolts too and coated them with some black smoothrite.

As i am waiting for all the new nuts, bolts and washers to put my suspension all back together, the angle grinder came out to play.
I cut out the main section of the sunroof housing. Intervals around the housing there ws additional plates tack welded. I drilled out the tacks and ground off the weld to the main part of the shell.
I then used the heat gun to soften the bonding. I thought this was going to be the hard part. To my suprise it mostly pulled off. There was additional material to grind at the sides of the sunroof opening and along the front. i have left about 5mm all round the edge until i have the roof back in place and fixed.
There is also an additional support running between both b pillars and have left this in place until the rolcage gets installed.
This it what i removed and it weighed quite a bit 15kgs at a guest. I recon about 25kgs in all for the panel and workings.
I removed the inner skin of the sunroof panel, which will get welded back in place. I was suprised at the amount of rust between the 2 parts.
I'll get the sunroof blasted before i get it welded.

The rust on that inner panel is scary...am I right in thinking this is the part you can see when you slide the roof open, and where the drain holes are located?

Simon....No the second picture is from the sunroof panel that fits inside the third picture.
In the third picture the middle part that is black was covered in the foam that was soaking as mentioned in another panel.
There was no rust on the area that channels the water down the drain holes.

Sorry Toby, ignore that last message, my computer was on a go slow. It took a little while for them to download. I see them now.

Finally got the front suspension all back together. I replaced the ARB and link bars to the struts. You may notice that the track rod ends look old and that's becuase i could not remove it in the garage and will get it removed on saturday.
The new hub with studs
This picture also shows the ducting. When i bought the car there was 2 holes cut in the inner cowling. I bought an airfilter attachment which has on long circular lip about an 1" on one side. With this side through the cowling i used 100mm diameter ally ducting and bent it to shape. This size is needed to fit over the front ducts.
This next picture shows the strut and Ground Control camber plate. I have set it as far back in the tower for maximum caster and in as far as possible for maximum camber. I'll get it aligned and corner weighed before my 1st trackday in march.
This next shot shows the disc and caliper in place
I set the perches to 28mm from the bottom of the thread which finishes when the yellow paint starts. With the wheels on the car and the car on the ground, i measured from the centre of the wheel arch to a fixed point on the wheel and was 1-2mm out.
Once the rear bumpstops arrive, which will be the first week in feb, i'll get on with the rears.

To add......the coilovers seemed to weigh slightly less than the standard shocks, but they weren't weighed on scales just hand balanced.
