Weather wise....

Saturday: The frost will clear overnight and during Saturday morning as cloudy, mild weather with outbreaks of rain gradually moves in from the Atlantic. Becoming much milder with highest temperatures 11 to 13 degrees in a freshening southwesterly wind

Could be lucky!

A good discussion about the season gone by and the season to come

Many suggestions about trips abroad, Frankfurt show, The 'Ring, AGM in May and motorsport evnet in Wales the same weekend

One person took on the possibilty of getting more tickets for club members for the BTCC weekend in July (hope that one works out)

As well Kirkiston we should look at Pembrey and Anglelsey in Wales for weekend away track days.

A good discussion indeed.an enjoyable three hours or so.id say the evening part of that wedding would have bin good craic!an organised trip over to the nurburgring would be something else.was watching topgear tonight and clarkson was over there trying to do a ten minute lap in the new jag diesel.he did it eventually only to be beaten by a local girl who never drove the car before by 48 seconds. Only 13 euro to do the circuit and 140 odd corners. There must have been half a dozen E30 M3's out on the circuit at the time plus a zm3.

Yes, very good article on Top Gear. It was amazing to see how efficient the whole process is to get onto the ring circuit, just get your ticket and queue up at the entrance barrier and how reasonable it costs. No mention of the ring taxi though.

Sounds good Ludo. What would we be talking about in terms of time. Maybe go on Friday morning, returning Monday evening. I'd be on for it for sure. I presume we'd go as a convoy, and stay in a local budget hotel to keep costs down.

Dave/Z3M - What do yee guys normally do, and have yee any contact details etc.

For cost, an hotel room for 2 or 3 can be found for 45/50 yoyos/room with 3 breakfast.

Boat (or shuttle) will be the most expensive thing here. As for time, probably 6hours accross englend and then free motorway accross france, blegium, holland, luxembourg and germany.

Leaving on friday morning, we should be around nuburg late in the evening (don't forget, foreign country means higher average speed!) or stop in belgium/luxembourg and a bit more driving in the morning.

Well i'm game if you guys are. Is it mainly a straight motorway run from the port or tunnel terminal in France to Nurburg. Anyone have any ideas of cost of seacat and eurotunnel.

Anyway, getting back onto topic, thanks go to the following who braved the elements to come down to Mullingar:-
gjoconnor92 (aka Gerard O' Connor),
ludo,
myself,
Richie (Mooney),
Robbie Bradford,
techno violet (aka Turlough Nolan)
topazman (aka Niall Barrett)

Topics discussed were:-
* track days & how entries are processed (i.e. making money collection easier, etc.)
* Vehicle launches (3 series) & Refurbished dealer launches (having a club presence at both)
* promotion of club (leaflets [raising a litter issue], newspaper promotion [e.g. Better driving days], etc.)
* overseas trip(s) - possibly to Isle of Man, Wales & AGM, Frankfurt Motor Show, the Ring, Munich & Mobile Tradition
* attendance (with BMW Irl) at events such as the BTCC
* ongoing group buys (with a future item likely to be Irish Region t-shirts).
* an idea of having a dealer of the month (bi-month) to co-incide with the club mag. This would allow us to give a dealer a bit of advertising whilst giving the club some profile with the dealer network (and maybe even some prizes, etc.). This could be done by writing a small review of the dealer along with an advert on the irish region site/forum.

I think people were generally satisfied with the events held during the year but it must be mentioned that most at the meeting were not active members of the club until recently and did not attend all events .

Anyone see the black 7 series on the main road back to dublin with absolutely no lights on in the dark in the wet.Bl**dy plonker. I think he was behind you for a bit Killian.
