On 205/55/15, 38-40psi front, 33-35psi rear on Potenza S02/03's. The harder the tyre, the lower the pressure (2-3psi) to create a bit of heat in them.

IIRC, your suspension was a bit unsure because of the wheels. I'll have your 15" wheels down on the day!

Typical - hit a pothole and ripped the sidewall this morning.  Two new rears - just bloody perfect one week before the track.  Anyone have 2 rims with rubber for rent, borrow, steal whatever rather than knock 3 months off the new ones.

I am going to do the scraps at the WE, what size do you need?

Why not going to a big tyre dealer that might have some old ones waiting to be processed at the back of his garage (especially if you get you 2 new one from him!).

Tried the guys here in Naas to see if they would put on two part worns but they laughed and at what they were charging to swap the one from the spare over €30 it made more sense to buy new.

I will see if anyone has upgraded there wheels and still have the originals somewhere with tyres still on them, then I could jus swap the wheels on the day or at the warehouse on the way down.

By the way I am on 15" rims.  I was hoping that I could have got away with they tyres as I am looking for a set of 17's but have to get the Yo Yo's togetehr first.  Looks like new rims will wait untill next year now

BMfan, did you sort out your problem?

Personnaly I have been lucky to score a set of 16" from a 2001 E46 318 for a great price. One of my friend picked them up on friday, still have to try them on the car, should be done this evening, but I am confident enough it will fit. They are 205/55 while my currents tyres are 225/50 but should do the job anyway.

I was talking to a breaker in roscommon, he was supposed to get a bimmer in today so might be some interesting parts to get for those in needs!

Numbers are still prohibitively low to cover all costs so it is looking like the National is the one for us unfortunatley.

My hopes of getting a sponsor to cover costs for the day fell through.

Anyway, if everyone can be in Mondello between 12:30 and 1pm, we will get registration and all the other formalities done with cars on track at 2pm!

Any top-up fees required from entrants, do you think?

I am of the opinion that this will not be the case. I expect a number of people to turn up on the day which will allow us to cover the final costs.

Are we getting tickets in the post like the May event, or do we show up with our receipts for payment on Sat?

Will there be a timing system in use on the day.  I'd be curious to see how she goes - non sport, soggy suspension and 15" rims with 205s. (New on the rear much to my disgust)

If I get the funds together, over the next 12 months I would like to change the suspension, brakes, wheels and also carry out that intake manifold mod along with the bigger throttle bodies.

It'd be great to have a history of how the changes actually affect the onraod performance rather than the rolling road saying you scored an extra 30-40bhp.  No better comparrison than going out stock, then doing the suspension wheel work - out again then do the engine mod.

as it's a 'better driving day', formal timing of laps wouldn't be in the spirit and may encourage a competitive element.  but informal timing by yourself or others is fair game.

I managed (with Mr. Barry's expert assistance) to get a few small token gifts from BMW Irl. for the day! Just picked them up a while ago!
