Subject: Sussex M power meet.
Date Posted: 31-July-2004 at 08:34

Guys,

Following on from a discussion in another post (E30M3 with approx321BHP). I was wondering how many people would be interested in an M power meet in the Sussex area.

There seems to be a fair number of you guys in or around Sussex, and I'm sure we could find a location acceptable to everyone in the area.

What do you think ?

Cheers,

Ian.

Well, that's not a bad response . I think Simon (sbk1972) was also up for a meet as well. It's certainly a table full .

We just need to decide on a location. I'm fairly central so am happy to go south to the coast, or north towards the M25 (as well as east & west).

Maybe if people could post the first bit of their postcode, we could see roughly where people are located and work out somewhere central to everyone. I'll go first.

Ian, there are many good locations to choose from.

Depends what people want really?!

Take for example, the Crawley leisure park, its got loads of parking and some food places within easy access.

Pease Pottage Service station.

Devils dyke area, parking there as well.

Any other ideas?!

Blimey, this is looking to be quite popular .

Looking at everyones locations, I would think something around the bottom of the M25 is going to be suit most people.

Unfortunately, this is not an area I know all that well, so am open to suggestions for a suitable location. Once we have decided where, we can work out when.

Hiya Gents,

Wow, really impressed with the interest here.  I know of a good place, one that the jap import boys use.  Its a pub in Bolney,  M25- M23, junction after crawley.  Quite a large impressive car park, pub, food etc etc.  Or Boxhill, Dorking.  LArge car  park, food, however this meeting point is rather popular for other groups and space isnt as bountiful as you think. Or Maderia Drive Brighton, lots of space, food, drinks, BIRDS :-) hahaah.

Seems like a day / time could be hard.  Obviously,  I reckon its got to be a weekend, I for one, dont finish work till late and meeting would be hard.

So, lets as a weekend sometime.  Im pretty much free any Saturday.

Simon,

Bolney would have been good (it's only a couple of miles from me ), but it's currently closed (new management I believe). I don't think it re-opens until September and apparently they have already said 'No' to the Jap import meet. I suspect they are not car friendly like the previous management.

I have had this place put forward as a possibilty:

http://www.willowspub.co.uk/ - http://www.willowspub.co.uk/

Apparently got  a big car park and are Biker friendly, so should be okay with a collection of BM's. Looks good to me anyway.

Cheers,

Ian.

That's the same day as the Car Club Festival at Gaydon.

If you choose that day we will miss both

Sunday 5 Sept is a big Coupe meet at Brooklands near Weybridge.

I know it a long way off but how about Sunday 19 September? Everybody should be back from holidays and stuff like that.

Why not the Red Lion pub at Chelwood Gate?

Its next door to Munich Legends so ther could be a chance of a bit of motorsport themed eyeballing too.

If we are going to meet up next door to Munich Legends on the Sunday, should we let them know, as they might open up the showroom and the workshop for us. They might even suggest  a few cars need timing chains done at the same time. Only joking.

I droped my car off there Monday night, and there was a v. nice M3 E30 cab for sale, but at £16,950 thought it was a little expensive.

I don't mind talking to Barney and co, to see they are interested.

Hi Guys,

I've just joined and found this thread.  I would like to come along but I am already booked in for the Wessex Classic Car Show down at Bovington Tank Museum for that day.

However my postcode is RG26 if any RG-postcoded people want to meet-up locally sometime.

Guys, see the 'POLL, "Sussex M power meet -
19/9/04" ' right underneath this for a map, if you need
it.

As the poll is gone, there is no map and I can't seem
to be able to input URL ??

Sounds like a good idea to me. Might I suggest The Castle Inn, Outwood. The landlord, Warwick Bean, is an ex E30 M3 owner and has at least one interesting car himself... Hope I can make it where ever you choose.
