Ok Guy's here a chance for you lot to have a go at a track that you have probably not had a chance to try.

The Scottish region is organising this day on Saturday 9th October.

The timetable for the day is as folows,

08:15 Turn up
08:30 Sign on
08:45 briefing
09:00 Track time commences

We are hoping for a maximum of 25 cars on at anyone time with a max of 50 in total. The intention is to have two fixed sessions lasting 15-20 minutes and then an open pitlane thereafter.

At 13:00hrs our day is done. The track is exclusivley ours for that four hours from 09:00hrs to 13:00hrs.To find out more log onto http://jwestwood.demon.co.uk/bmwcc/knockhill2004.html - http://jwestwood.demon.co.uk/bmwcc/knockhill2004.html or contact one of the committee if you are interested in coming along. We are looking for the full amount up front to guarantee yourself a place, so come on at this price you’d be mad to miss out. Mark this one in your diaries.
And the best bit is that it will only cost you £90.

If any of our southern cousins or Irish cousins wish to come along then some of our members have offered to put people up in their homes for the night FOC of course.

I would love do experinence Knockhill but would need to arrange for the car to be transported both ways....otherwise I will be over my limited mileage insurance

Let me look into it but I suspect next year.

Dunc,

u should take the 328i around if you haven't sold it by then.. a great way to send of the old girl..

I recall doing just that a few years ago before I sold my old GT6 to this guy who was watching as I cooked the brakes on Taylors.. Still got 30 large sheets mind..

Kev it would be great if you could make it. One of the lads up here would put you up for the night. Where are you down south? Are you close to your alotted milage for the year?

Gary...

I have just recalculated the planned usage and if I added the approx 1000 miles for Knockhill to the other planned and mostly paid for trips, I would only have 600 miles left and that has to last from the end of October until the end of Feb 2005.

So it really is a case of finding a way to transport the car or do it next year. There used to be a railcar service from London to Glasgow or Edinburgh but I guess it must have closed down. A trailer is one way but I don't want to use the M5 to tow.

The Nurburgring is about the same distance for me as Knockhill.

I think this will be a top event and one I'm really looking forward to.. for anyone wanting to develop their wet track skills then this one is THE event on the calendar.. good facilities.. really tight twisty track with plenty of compressions and camber changes for anyone not versed with this track..

I hope all the track loons add this to their diary for this and next year's event... be good to see you there and we can help find you accomodation contacts etc..

A good day and no mistake.. great fun in blowing away those Lotus hounds up the pit straight,, pity they're so bloody snappy at your heels on the slower stuff.. better brakes will sort some of that out and the M was going great guns...

Be good to see how some of the 'old hands' do up here.. it's a quick circuiit to learn and a slow circuit to learn well... the blind chicane dip and crest through Glenvargil is one of my all time favourite bends...and Clark's can unsettle the reckless.. easy to take slow.. hard to take fast...the trick is to let the throttle steer you through the second bend... In general it's a forgiving track but very concentrated where you spend 80% in the braking zone..

It's the taking part that counts Wendy and your E30 is bound to be quicker through the slow stuff. .. I'm sure I'll let you past if you step aside up Daewoo and pit straight..

Just no sneaky inside lines through Duffus into McIntyres.. eh?
