Because the Wessex region Committee has dispanded without telling anyone of the Wessex members.  Therefore there will probably not be any events this year....  Makes you wonder what you pay the subscription for doesnt it!!!

Its only a suggestion guys, but you could always contact the office and get it going again.

Two of you wanting to do something, even if its only a pub meet is an event in my book, and hopefully some of the other regions stuff will get you interested.

Like Nigel said, why don't you get things going? Take a look at the Irish Region for example, it had been dormant for a long time and in the last 18 months or so it has become one of the most active regions in the club.

We had a meeting recently where all members of the region were invited to attend and could provide input into events so that it becomes less of a 'committee' run region and more of a 'member' run one.

Personally I view the subscription as a payment for the mags, etc. Anything else is then a bonus.

I can confirm that the wessex regional day has been booked and the region is still running. I am also going to be getting involved with this region and do all I can to keep you all informed of events.

Just two members of the Wessex Committee have resigned. In fact, within days two more people have offered to replace them AND Ross Harris has expressed an interest as well so there will probably be one MORE Wessex Committee member than before! I have spoken to Ross and he is to speak with the other Wessex Committee members.

The statement about no more events is nonsense.

As Club Secretary I would urge people to speak to me personally at the club office to determine facts rather than these being presented on the Forum in this way

Good Advice!!!!, if in doubt , Mail or call the office. Great news of offers to Help organise events, OR just to support Your regions existing one.s .More Importantly-------   tell the Doers What type of events will get your attention and Support!!!!!!, who wants to spends hours doing the Biz in planning for members, and very few turn up.So its a good chance now, for New ideas.

As the post was originally about the web page, perhaps I can make the odd comment.
Jaqueline Garman was always the person who sent in information to me to update the web page. Sadly, the pressures placed on her led to her having to give up the job, and since then, whilst we keep in touch, there have been no web updates provided. However, if anyone wishes to send in updates, I will be only too pleased to post them.
If the Wessex Committee have now appointed someone to update the Wessex events list, please contact me I will provide the required access codes.
