I've looked through the forum and can't see that this has come up before. I'm considering a second hand M5 (£30K) and was wondering what sort of running costs I should budget for. Around 15K miles a year with no 'silly' usage!

TIA for any responses.

i have a November 2000 M5 (but 2001 model with new lights etc) with 34000 miles on the clock. I have owned it for about 14 months. It has had one service (£400) but is just about due for another one (interval of 10,000 miles).

It has gone wrong once when one the vanos banks needed replacing (luckily all under warranty).

Despite nearly all road use (with dsc on most the time) I have had to do all four tyres - but managed to get very good price from wembley tyres.

By the way mines for sale!
