Picture the scene..... I'm guided to a point and a guy stands next to my car, he then calls over to the group and then some one else pulls up along side me. Instead of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel sat next to each other there is now me and some guy in a Jap spec Subaru Impreza lined up to race..... The Subaru is running 340 Bhp and it is 4 wheel drive (thats all I know) Mine is a 1995 Euro spec 328i sedan. its got the later 2.8 engine, a Cosworth Ramair filter (8" diameter) Bosche split four plugs, running on Shell's Optimax fuel and a standard exhaust. Also the car is always driven hard....... Im sitting there thinking that against this Subaru im going to look very silly:lol: The guy counts down and them we go......... .......but here is the thing I dont understand? This guy takes no prisoners, he's been street racing for 5 years. How can my Bm (thats running an estimated 200Bhp) keep up as well as it did against a 340Bhp Subaru? Has anyone any idears...... am i running more than 200Bhp? please tell, its doing my head in...... ------------- drive it hard fast and side ways..... |

the bemmer has great mid range power,, which the scoobies lack, they are great for sprinting, but once that 6 cylinder is running, its like a train, you dont have to wait for turbos to come in, you have smooth delivery of poewr throughout the range. still a little suprised though. cheers steve ------------- BMW M3 coupe, 1993 |

i have found a garage near to where i live with a rolling road, they can check my Bhp....... i shall keep you all posted. ------------- drive it hard fast and side ways..... |

Hmmm - couple of possibilities for this: 1) As above - Scoobies are quick, but it's all top end. The straight6 has it all the way through. 2) The other guy drives like a wuss, and/or is talking B*ll*cks. That much bhp should have left you for dust - if he has it or uses it. Sounds like all mouth and no trousers to me........ I'll let you decide which you think is most appropriate! Let us know what bhp you were running when you find out.
