Newish member!

I have owned a E36 M3 convertable for pprox 4 months (bought from Chandlers Angmering) it has now een back 3 times with transmission probs. The latest this Friday happened on the M4 on my weekly return to Horsham from Bristol.

Whilst in the middle lane I experienced a sharp increase in revs and noticed gear indication had gone from 6th to Zero! Also a strong ticking sound from the area of the gear/shift leaver. I wasn sports mode at the time.

Once I had coasted to the hard-shoulder I managed to get started again (Error light on) however on reaching 5th engine revs increase and gear selection went back to zero then 2 1ts 2nd etc etc.

Second time on hard shoulder proved I could change manually up to 5th so limped home and returned car to Chandlers.

I am assuming this a computer/electronic prob, each time dealer has said they can't find anything wrong!
