Cambell has very kindly planned out a route for the Oct Drive & Dine. The plan is to meet at Granada Services just off the A1 at 10:00 to leave at 10:30 heading over the Lammermuir Hills stopping at Eyemouth for about 12:15 for a coffee or a bite to eat. Leave Eyemouth around 13:15 and head to the http://www.myretonmotormuseum.co.uk/" rel="nofollow - Myreton Motor Museum for 14:00 for a look round. After that we will head home. All in all sounds a great day!

Im going to have to pull out of this run and am gutted cause its my type of run. Ive had a Lakes Passes Run organised for months for 4-5th Oct. We got a letter few weeks ago saying my wifes operation date was 3rd Oct so i swapped dates for digs for 1st Nov. Last week we got a letter cancelling my wifes operation so i contacted the digs to see if we could swap back the date as weather early Oct is chance to be nicer than Nov and i can do it topless  . I really didn't think the rooms would still be available so thought Eyemouth Fish n Chips, mmmmmm..Digs has just emailed me back this morning saying the rooms are still available so have put booking back to 4-5th Oct. Shame you cant make it Lee, next time maybe. Did the recce trip tonight, The timings are conservative as they were easily achieved whilst driving behind tractors and in thick fog with 30ft of visibility. Trying to drive at a pace that didn't waste time but stay completely safe was a real challenge which I really enjoyed. If its a nice clear day, we'll be in Eyemouth in plenty of time. Parking is limited in Eyemouth and is probably best kept to the spaces at the amusements and at the Co op. The "Milk Bar" I propose we eat in is just a minutes walk from the car park. Its not "The Balmoral", its an Ice Cream parlour with a chip shop attached and an inside seating area with a nice view to the rear. As detailed above, Issy has been in touch with the museum and they're looking forward to seeing us. Unfortunately, the museum doesn't offer tea or coffee but the carpark should easily house us all and provide a nice backdrop for some photos. Approximately 100 miles round trip from Musselburgh Services with some fantastic roads and views on the way.

The usual price is £7 per person but Issy has secured a discount. I don't know what the discounted rate is so bargain on spending £7 pp and if its cheaper, that's a bonus. 17 cars so far so this should make for some pretty cool photo opportunities. Those of you who have walkie talkies, remember to charge them, bring them, switch them on, put them on channel 2 and turn the volume up and speak now and again. lol

I'm not sure who was planning to meet at Showcase but as "Red Dog Leader" has been called in to work, I suggest that if you still head to Showcase for 8:45 for a 9am depart. Just take a normal pace drive to Musselburgh and look for Gary in the red M3 from around Airdrie on the M8. Big Dave, if you're heading to Showcase could you keep an eye out for Michael in his E46 330 as he'll be new to the group. Michael, look for a shiney red Z3 at Showcase with large chap "Big Dave" and say hello. Everybody else, see you at Musselburgh around 10am. |

Great day out,always meeting new faces and seeing more tremendous new motors, fantastic roads, amazing scenery and brilliant lunch. Thanks to Cambell and all the team for organising such a great day. First chance I've had to say what a great run on Sunday. Cambell played a blinder with the route and a great fish supper as well. Great to see everyone again and meet some new faces to me as well. Will try not to leave it too long till my next meet. ------------- Mrs Pontipine is a nosey bint. |
