Got a bit of a problem ,   I never has any service history with my 535d m sport ,  car is immaculate condition so i ordered the new service history book and was going to get it stamped when i found out where it had been using BMW premium phone number to tell me and then post to dealers in turn ,    Th lady  told me it had been sent through THORNE distribution cntre and that was it ,   the car is 7 yrs old,    what does that mean ?

Was it a fleet car or something and serviced by them ?

My understanding is that you requested a replacement service history book which was then to be sent to each dealer in turn for them to stamp up what and when they serviced it?

 

I'm sure I've heard that you can write to a central BMW place probably their office in Berkshire to get a download of what was done provided the dealers system reported back to the central system.  No doubt there will be a ££££ cost to this though.

 

In a few years time you won't have a service book anymore with everything being logged on computuer.  I think Merc are going down this route.  Not quite sure how that will work when cars are older and well out of the franchised dealers.
