Been busy with the 520.
First fixed the leaking fuel tank so I can put fuel in it. Posted an update below. Then changed the thermostat as it was jamming open causing the engine to run cool. So from 4mpg to 25+ mpg hopefully. Nothing worse than filling the car with £100 of fuel and then trying to catch it in an empty 2 litre fizzy drinks bottle!!
The centre caps on the alloys were looking bad so painted them, now the alloys need done. Will be tackling this myself over the next few months.
Now awaiting a new 520i badge, really hard to source as it's the new unjoined numbering now. Also bought another drivers side mirror as it's the wrong pre facelift mirror fitted at the moment. And bought an alarm fob to try and get the alarm/remote c/l working.
Still need to finish polishing and new number plates needed but getting there.
Oh and I think I will keep my spare style 5s and these can be put on in the summer. Decisions decisions !!
