Any ideas what the tyre pressures should be for my 2004 E46 318 TI compact?  The handbook says refer to the side of the door but it doesnt say just goes on about bars and how many passengers  Thanks!

LOL. LOL

Sorry your post made me laugh.

BAR is a measure of air pressure. 1 BAR is 14.503 PSi (pounds per square inch)

Halford digital pressure gauge,  psi or bar. Cheap and accurate

Yes thanks for your replies but I just wanted to know the pressures.  On my Honda they were clearly displayed front and back but apparently with the BMW nothing is made simple, you have to do calculations.  I havent had the car long and am a layman and dont really appreciate being sneered at.  I thought the purpose of this board was to help.

You are quite right, nothing is simple with German cars. I have a Merc CLK and the owners hand book is almost an inch thick, it goes on and on about the satnav and telephone etc but when it comes about the basics, nothing. It turns out the tyre pressures are on the inside of fuel filler flap, also in bar.
Get a digital presure gague will convert bar to psi at a touch of a button

Hey Bettybeamer

What size are your tyres, 17" or 18"?
