Hi All,

I have a 1988 635 CSi which has done 102K

Its recently developed a loud "tappety" noise which is getting worse. I guess its a work camshaft lobe or follower, any other suggestions?

Also - Does anyone know a of good independent garage within reasonable distance of Northampton?

Cheers

Brian

Not sure what this is, but i know that sixes can suffer from a oil pump/pressure regulator problem that can stop feeding oil to the top of the engine. If the rocker cover is taken off this can be checked, but you need to see someone and soon. It might be worth having a chat with Munich Legends as they will be able to give you some advice on what it is. I don't live around Northampton, but a post in your region might be able to get you an answer.
