Fellow Members

The cost of joining the IAM, at present is £85.

That INCLUDES the test fee, and all observed runs (tuition) you need to get you through the test.

Derek - more specifically try http://www.iam.org.uk/IAMGroups/region8.php - www.iam.org.uk/IAMGroups/region8.php

Also look @ http://www.advancedmotorists-ni.co.uk - www.advancedmotorists-ni.co.uk

I also know that Hibernian insurance have a rip-off scheme for younger drivers which runs in conjunction with the IAM. Surely there is a few trainers / testers in the Dublin area.
http://www.hiberniandirect.ie/ignition.asp - www.hiberniandirect.ie/ignition.asp  is the page for it but there is no real info about the IAM

Just looking @ the 2nd link above ( http://www.advancedmotorists-ni.co.uk/faq/ - www.advancedmotorists-ni.co.uk/faq/  - 4th faq) it mentions that the test must be done in NI. Maybe this haas changed since the Hibernian Scheme!?!

I have been thinking about doing something like theis for a while but never got the finger out. It has been moving up the priority list recently since a friend got the RoSPA Gold Star on his motorbike. ( http://www.rospa.com/drivertraining/roada/groups/ni.htm - just found a link for RoSPA NI ).

let me know how you get on in your search
K.

Gentlemen

We have our first member to sign up, that I know of anyway.

Its James, known as sohlman on here.

He has allowed me to post this fact.

Although he will probably have a wait now, to be allocated an observer ( I had to wait 5 months ! ), I wish him all the best, and hope he will post on here as he goes through the course.

Def' giving this some serious thought Nigel.

Need to double check through the Scottish Register who my local observer might be.. I'm based near Falkirk and we've had a couple of chats thus far.
