Welcome to the forum.

What engine is in your 5er?

My E60 has two belts, one large belt to drive everything bar the aircon pump and it has a tensioner that can be released but the aircon belt is like yours.

The BMW method (from TIS) is to turn the engine over by hand (spanner on crank pulley nut) while feeding a cloth or similar under the aircon belt between it and the aircon pulley and then pull the cloth to pull the belt off.

Refitting involves a clamp, which is a BMW special tool.  You put the new belt on over the crank pulley and as much of it as you can on the aircon pulley then fit the clamp to clamp the new belt to the aircon pulley, you then turn the engine over by hand to pull the belt on to the aircon pulley.

I would be very carefull so that you do not bend anything.

Andrew

I'm sure if you are mechanically minded you will be able to do it yourself with a few tools etc.

What engine do you have in your 5er?
