back in a E30
got me a maga clean 318is today folk's, so far ive
counted over £6k in receipts from over the past few yrs,
it had a full bare metal respray last year (very well
done) .. i'm quite excited to be back in a E30, but
annoyingly it is off the road as tonight i stripped down
the front struts to fit new springs as the front was to
low for me (and the car!) but i also found that the top
spring plates were pretty worn (slightly rotten) so i'm
off to euro-parts in the morning to try get new spring
top plates??

some info: 318is, 1.8 16v, 1990 "G", Brilliant red, full
history from Harry Fairbairns poly bushed suspension,
eibach anti roll bar's, thee cleanest cloth interior ive
seen in a E30, AC Shnitzer steering wheel, Tech-1 skirts,
17" BBS-RZ wheels both my mate and i were quite taken
back at how clean the underside is to
hopefully i'll get it along to a few future meet's guy's
(sorted my pics)

Hi Issy, i don't know what is wrong with my pic's? we use
google chrome and it must be interfering with me posting
pic's within this site?

Very nice, that front splitter wouldn't last long round my way - flipping speedbumps ripped mine off.

Any pics of the inside?

IIRC in among the history was a BMWCC membership card or some evidence that a previous owner was a BMWCC member. It's been local for a long time.  Somebody might recognise it?

Boyd, ive only looked through about half the file of
history and receipts etc that came with the car, there's
to much to take in

also what plans did the last owner have for it's up grade?

I'm assuming you bought it from Neil in Cambuslang?

When I  got it - probably last August/September, it was a really straight, clean 318iS that had obviously been well looked after for the biggest majority of its life - until the chap I bought it from got it, really.  To be fair to him, he couldn't afford to keep it in fuel nd was working 10 hour days, seven days a week.  He wouldn't take cash for it.  He didn't have time to buy a replacement.  I had to go and buy something that suited him and swap!!

Neil bought it and went mental! he spent fortunes on it including the wheels, bodykit, lights, and suspension and the repaint.

It's not to my taste, but it does look good.

He planned to do an M88 conversion with an engine out of an E24 M635 that I had broken, but I think his job changed and it had to be shelved.

yeah i got the E30 from Neil, he certainly did spend a
fortune on it, all of what you have says + eibach ARB's
fully polly bushed rear axle beam & diff, trailing arms
and the rear bushes on the front arm's .. he's left me
with nothing much else to do!
i straight swapped him my 1997 Golf VR6 for the E30, he
just fancied a change and wanted the car to go to someone
who would look after it and carry on keeping it good ..
i'll try my best

Nice to see you back with a proper car Ian.

Lurve the colour, "get out of my way red" if I'm not mistaken

You'll need to change your name on here now.

All the best with it

Andrew
