been having my usual wee look through the car ads recently and came across a '96' N reg 328 Sport that got my attention mostly because of what I thought was a cheap price.

Black, looks standard, don't know mileage but has full main dealer history.

it's up for £1995 which I think is cheap especially when it's from a trader which makes me very wary indeed. I know that some of the later models go for silly money so have kind of lost track of what these models are really worth on the open market.

your opinion on value would be much appreciated.

btw I'm not buying, I'm only looking

Stevie

For that kinda money I think you would expect something in teh region of 120K miles .... and a better than average condition although not a mint condition one ... UNLESS ... they need to get rid of car quickly for they are skint !!

A cars only worth what your willing to pay, and while I paid a high premium for mine 11 months ago ... (yes its been that long) I didnt really care, it was right for me.

On the N plate, it may be the Nikisil engined one, if it bothers you, then you might wanna check that out first by looking for the wee tab on the engine block, if its there ... then its not Nikisil, simple 5 minute check.

I love my 328 .... its a stepping stone to get me where I belong and thats behind the wheel on an M ... but Im not ready for an M yet as when I move up ..... its got to be something special to get me to move .... either that or av run into a big F'n tree and a got good payout from insurance :)

£2K isnt really a lot of money for a car like that. With a few simple and cheap mods you can see 230bhp from it ... easy peasy.

Is the Italian love affair on the rocks already.

They often go cheap from traders if they've been traded in, though to be honest most of these fall into the £2000 - £3000 window nowadays with just the really good ones and the really crap ones falling either side.

Like HH (his inititals not his breast size) says, could be a lot of fun for little pennies.

Could easily be a rotten shed thats had it's arse kicked though so be careful.
Oops i forgot...you're just looking
