What would you consider to be a good price to currently buy a mid-2004 CSL for with 50k miles? I`ve completely lost touch of M3 prices, especially the CSL. And what would be a 'bargain'?

Trade on something with those sort of miles is probably around £22-23K. I always think if you can buy at trade money you are doing well.

Does depend somewhat on the spec of the car and originality.

IIRC these was a 67K car in  available a little while ago for just shy of £21K.

I've been watching quite a few over the last year, and the low mileage ones just under £30k have been around all year - not sold. So if I was going to be in the market for one with higher mileage, I wouldn't want to pay much more than £20k.

These still have not stoppped tumbling in value - yet.

Just out of interest, what would a CSL have cost a lucky git new in 2004?

IIRC circa £62K when new, plus any extras, air con, xenons, cd players etc. Although they were a little sticky on the showroom floors.

The CSLs are holding their value well considering I've seen the first of the current M5's going for £22k-£24k.
