Hello people. Just bought myself a "new" 1990 320i SE. But, can be a bugger to start now and again. It`s like the cold start injector is faulty (not sure if they are fitted on this particular engine though). I generally have to wind it with my foot down a bit to get it going. Once going though it`s absolutely fine! Could it be a leaky injector or something? I`ve noticed that it smells a bit petrolly as if it is flooded. Any advice welcome! Thanks.

Oh yeah, I`ve done a basic tune. Plugs, dist.cap rotor arm. No joy. Has anyone had any experience with Thermo time switches? (clutching at straws).

Could be the petrol pump is on its way out....do you have to keep the key turned in the start position till it eventually starts? My brother's E30 is like this as his fuel pump is knackered.

Thanks Keith, but ever since i took the ICV apart and gave it a clean, it`s been starting sweet ever since. Didn`t think that would solve it but it seems to have done the trick... bit of a mystery.
