Folks, this is up early because I'm doing it while I remember.
for the Glasgow meet the Scottish Region of the BMWCC will be meeting at the;

Stonefield Pub & Carvery,
Dumbarton Road,
Milton,
Dumbarton,
G82 2TN.

on 1st February 2009 at 1pm as usual.
For those who feel inclined afterwards we'll be going for a liesurely jaunt along the shores of Loch Lomond down into Arrochar, through onto Garelochhead and then across the MOD road from Faslane back over to Balloch.

DIRECTIONS

http://www.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=G69+7TZ&daddr=G82+2TN&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&sll=55.914048,-4.435063&sspn=0.17894,0.436707&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=10 - route from showcase cinema
the location is on the right at the fuel stations/Nissan Garage but has no direct entrance for west bound traffic so to enter it will require you to hang a u-turn and join east bound traffic. be warned this is a very busy road, my preferred option would be to turn right into Milton Brae(just before left bend) this way you can turn safely, rejoin east bound A82 then enter venue(approx 200yrds)

http://www.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=G69+7TZ&daddr=G12+8HH+to:G82+2TN&hl=en&geocode=&mra=ls&sll=55.891065,-4.29477&sspn=0.358096,0.873413&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=10 - alternative route from showcase
for those who would prefer to avoid too much motorway but be warned this is a busy part of the city to negotiate and could add considerable time to your journey

TRAFFIC UPDATE
I have been informed that the west bound off ramp on Erskine Bridge will be closed for road works, an approx 1mile diversion will be in place but depending on traffic volume this could add some time to your journey

hope to see you all there

I'm well up for that 20 mins from home.

Put my name down for the run too.  That's a great road past the MOD over the hills.

I've even got the approval of the Long Haired General, her indoors who must be obeyed at all times.

Is the plan to have lunch at the pub first?

Andrew

lunch will be first then the run. think of it as your last supper , unfortunately they wouldn't accept reservations so it's first come but they have assured me that if we're there for 1pm then they'll be able to seat us, if we went for run first we couldn't rely on getting some food.
it's not ideal but I have had good reports about the food so thought it worthwhile to take the chance.
I'll make sure everybody that makes the effort will be looked after

Looking doubtful for me for this one as my daughter somewhat  inconveniently chose Feb 1st to be born. Pity as i've driven a few of the roads over that way over the years either going to the football at Dumbarton or working at Faslane and it is a nice part of the country.

Going to have a run up to the NE meet the week after if this one goes down the pan though so every cloud.

i still might come along and say Hi ... just take care, i'm on the Loch Lomond road a few time's a-week and it's been busy with traffic car's, also if you are going Arrochar, through to Garelochhead just watch out for the sheep, deer, army lorry's and the road! low car's can bottom out very easy on this road and there are pot hole's every where due to the weather weve been having there is also another set of light's on that road due to another land slide, might be better going over the "hall road"

some folk will know some of that route Stevie has picked as it's very close to the route i took a few folk along a while back, remeber your camera as you'll get good back drop veiw's seen as it's a clear sky today

enjoy

Hey folks... just made it back down to Lytham... bit snowy on the M6 - felt
like I was in Star Wars making the jump to hyperspace!!

What about that t**t in the red Vauxhall???? Couldn't believe he was trying
to overtake about 15 rather large-engined nose-to-tail BMWs going round
bends and over blind summits!!!!!!!!!! t**t nearly crashed a few times!

Oft, it does look cold back there. Not sure where I would have rather have been today, freezing my nadgers off in Western Scotland or lying on the deck of my 'yacht' after a BBQ in the South Atlantic in the blazin' heat...

For those of you that don't know me, Read 'Dirty Anchor Handler' (big tug) for 'Yacht'!

Some good photos, and at least it stayed clear and dry. And, nice to see the 'E46 M3 club' has spanned its wings again. For a while there, it was beginning to feel like that. Where have they all gone? Cliff, Tiko, Jon (Bluebro)?

Yeah that was most entertaining to watch from my position in the convoy.  At first I thought it was, er, actually you in the red three (sorry ) then I realised that it was that chav in the Astra trying to overtake you.  That was a bit scary.

On rejoining the A82, I ended up following a nice blue 02 plate E39 M5 to virtually all the way home.

Thanks again.

Don't like to see ANYONE in a ditch, but by what some where saying about this guys driving, it was inevitable he was going to end up where he did. If THIS is the Red Vauxhall mentioned previously...NICE Lexus lights ya WALLOPER!! Should have gone to Specsavers!

What of the E39 M5 though?

Hehe.. I was just enjoying the convoy drive - didn't even notice the retard until he was alongside me going over the hill... I just backed off a bit - left plenty of space between me and him incase he had a head-on with someone coming round the corner... which.. he nearly did on 2 occassions trying to overtake on a bend (over the solid white lines!). He had a mate in the car too who was leaning right across him to try to see past the chap in the Alpina (sorry - don't know too many names!). Was quite funny watching him pulling out to overtake and then the Alpina just pulled away easily leaving him stranded in the other lane overtaking nobody

Once that had happened a couple of times tho he just got plain reckless and started doing it on blind bends and summits.... nut job! Nearly went head first into that 4x4 that came round the corner...

It could've been worse for this retard, but he is lucky to just have ran in to the bushes.

Don't think that picce is the chav we are taking about.  He was in a much older shape Astra which was repalced in '98.  That one in the ditch is a newer style.

Was just a joke about the picture.

He turned off in Renton when I kept taking the p1ss when he even thought about the over take.

Keep an eye out as you'll no doubt see him there in the near future.......

I've never seen anything like it!  I never clocked him behind me until stevie booted it in front and I did likewise, only to see this guy in mid over take but getting left way behind in the wrong lane looking like a prize tool.

Ultimately it was down right dangerous, he was inches off my chuff!

Wee bam....

Otherwise, a cracking day out and good to see all of you again!

Yeah - he was literally inches away from you... nutter... He was feathering the brakes all the time just to stop going into the back of you... tit! Loved it when you pulled away and left him looking like a complete knob!
