I work for NXP semiconductors in the Innovation group. This is one of the latest collaborations with ourselves and BMW.

 

NXP and BMW cooperate in the key of the future
Last week we http://www.nxp.com/news/content/file_1487.html - a prototype for the car key of the future together with BMW Research. This key will enable the end-user to make contactless payments e.g. on the gas station with his/her car key, so no extra credit card will be needed. A demo of this key will be showcased for the first time at the NXP booth at CarteS in Paris next week and we'll be present at the BMW TechDay in Munich.
