Apparently I made a purchase from this website using my Paypal account.

$40 I'm told.

Funny until I got an email informing me of this I had never even heard of Gaia Online and my wife certainly hadn't

I've filed a dispute with paypla so hopefully I will get the money back but it doesn't inspire much confidence in thier security.

Has anyone else had any trouble with Paypal?

These are just spoof/phishing emails - I doubt any money has taken from your account, but still worth checking.

I normally forward these to PayPal for investigation, but doubt if it does any good.

I've had loads of phishing emails allegedly from Lloyds/TSB this week, asking me to update my details in their new secure system - I don't have an account with them, so definately phishing. Anyone else had this?

No this is genuine. Money has been taken from my account.

I do however also get the banking ones.

Paypal are quite good at discovering fraud so you should (hopefully) be ok.
I note others have been through the same...

I hope so.

My account has now been partially disabled until I go through the procedure. I think I'll leave it for a few days. I don't like the thought of my bank account getting debited by Paypal for fraudulent transactions.

Run a spyware check on your PCs also just in case!

Have done. It didn't find any serious risks, just a few tracking cookies and other medium level risk stuff.

All cleaned up now.

Reading the http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/default.stm - Football Gossip on the BBC website, I saw this ...

Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?
