Iam an engineer by trade (time served toolmaker, automotive supplier experience, project engineer, production manager etc) and in my spare time like nothing better than spending time in my newly built purpose built huffy house (14' x 30'garage) (why is it that engineers like relaxing doing engineering type hobbies? - sad???) Our new daughter, Lorna, has radically changed my perspective on life (including being forced to buy a 4 door E36 (M3 though so i haven't completely gone soft)). Iam now thinking about how i can build her her very first car and thought some kind of BMW scaled down electric powered kit would be great. Has anyone ever came across any plans or kit details. I dont mind building most of the bits myself and have some time before i would dare letting her loose on one (especially if she takes after her mother for driving!!!) seeing as she is only 7 months old.

Please help. Any practical advice would be welcomed.

Being relatively young (31) i have ownly dabled with full sized E30's, E34 & E36's (7 off so far) so would think that a scaled down M3 or Z3 would be cool, however i have a classic side and would consider building a 3.0 CSL if plans are available.

I look forward to your replies.

All the best for the New Year,

Darren Wake.
