Can anyone recommend a good high performance driving course where I can learn in relative safety, how to handle my 330 ci sport better? I have done 3 high performance courses on the Nurbürgring in Germany on a motorbike and five years there in a car but never to excess and never in the BM. I had an assortment including a 968, Audi RS2, a BMW E30 325i auto cabrio, a BMW 520 hire-car and a fiat coupe. I will take the 330ci but want to be a bit more confident in what it can do first.  I think its what YOU can make your car do, not so much what IT will do.With the number of visits you have made to the RING, if on a professional instructed course, you are way ahead of many pay lap visitors.One can visit many times, and not know the safety lines.Your visits on your Motorcycle, will have given you more feel than anything else ,and you can relate to this in the 330ci.A good drivers course at Thruxton , and some individual coaching elsewhere , are available. We all love the freedom on the circuits, BUT--we have to drive in the real world, and our circuit days should help us to react as better drivers.------------- SAFETYFAST |

True, true, but self-taught also allows us to make mistakes. I do not take a car to extremes on the Ring because I am not confident in my ability to get it back all the time, (ok not everyone can do it all the time), I feel a few pound spent on a HP driving course, in my car, would be money well spent. ------------- Happy to be a BM bore !! ex - Black/Black 330 coupe sport auto now - 320d SE Touring A step up in many ways; a step down in terms of 'street-cred' |

Ex-British Touring Car Champion Robb Gravitt, does a course called 'Ultimate Car Control'. It costs £1,250 for one day of one-to-one tuition. Part theory, part practical. http://www.ultimatecarcontrol.com I was going to do the course myself, but had to spend the cash on something else - namely repairing the car!
