The Dunlop SP9000 tyres on my 525d Sport Touring need replacing soon. Anybody know what the best tyres are for this model of car? ------------- Diesel Power |

Got proxes t1Rs on the back of my touring, like them a lot. Endless grip and smooth breakaway when you turn the dsp off. The P7000s on the front feel nasty by comparison. They're well worn so it's not fair, but i'll replace them with T1-Rs when they go.

I had PS2s on the 750iL and wasn't overwhelmed by them. Especially not for the price.

Havn't tried the toyos ps2's are nice but way to expensive and they wear like mad. Falken 452's have the same grip wear a bit slower and cost half of the Michelins. I'd know what I get. There is a discusion on the M5 board about using higher load rating (above 94) on tourings to prevent high wear so might be worth trying to get 98 load rating (if you find them) ------------- Chris 3rock-Car-Electronics-Services Cars.: e34 540t 6sp e24 635csi |

I don't have shares in Michelin, honest! I have just completed over 3200 miles around EU on PS2 and they are undoubtedly the best tyres I've had. More grip than I have yet needed, never tramlines (18") and proved very good in torrential rain in northern France. Super tyre. ------------- Larzyh. How about Goodyear Eagle F1's had a set of them on gave car great all round performance and grip in the wet. Also had them on other cars as well amazing what i could do with the 4x4 serria ------------- If you can't be good don't get caught -------------------------- |

I had Toyos on my E39 when I bought it and I thought they were rubbish. Wore out after 12,000 miles, back end was all over the place. I replaced them with OEM Contis (Eco Contact) and back end was a bit more planted then swapped front to rear when I got newer Contis last year, Premium Contact I think and they stick to the black stuff more so than the Eco Contacts. If you know where to go, Michelins will not be expensive. Stay away from Kwik Frauds and Budget and the like they charge like wounded bulls. Go to your local garage and ask him to source them. Works for me, Michelins from Kwik Fraud £118 per corner for my old Sennie, local garage £75 each! Just my 2p worth! Andrew ------------- Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series! The new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric is my favourite. Price and performace. Its more comfy and precise than the directional F1. Conti Sport Contact 2 and 3 are awesome but have less overall grip than the competition, but are very precise, comfy and offer great feedback. The best ones for the motorway jaunts. Michelin PS2 - faultless but not always worth the extra over the Goodyear F1 in my opinion. Pirelli - P-Zero's tramline more than the others, wear out quiker but are easy to keep upto temperature but aren't as confident in the wet as they are in the dry .... ------------- Let The Good Times Roll |
