There's definately a jackanory behind that,

'Buy it now £4650'

for a 330 cab with 18k........

Have a look at 'Bid retraction and cancellation history'

If the guy is "selling" it for £20k below market value then the guy is either a fool or there's a catch.  If it looks like poo and smells like poo, the chances are its not ice cream.

There may be hints in the number of new M3 items it has.  btw - the reg does seem to check out as a 330.

There was a link to his email address, I wish I'd emailed him now just to have a sniff about. I think it was possibly a ringer been in a serious accident and had a dodgy re-build or it's hotter than molten lava.

Hence the link to his email rather than dealing through e-bay.

Glad it's been removed, it has hopefully saved some poor, unsuspecting idiot from being taken for a mug.

Is brasso an alternative to vaseline then?

Cheap cars are one thing, but usually if you suspect an item to be dodgy, you report it to ebay for them to investigate further.

On the volvo forum, there have been so many scams.  Some looked like genuine ads on the face of it with cars being pictured outside a nice honest looking middle class home etc, but these were not always pictures of the exact vehicle.

It was only when asking for specific vehicle details, more about the shipping/import etc of the vehicles that members found that the advertiser was starting to become patchy and irritated with their replies always insisting on deposit/full payment up front before vehicles could be imported to the UK or refusing any viewing requests etc.

Didn't have chance to report this one. By the time I got home from work, it had been removed. Whenever people, were asking questions like "How come it's so cheap, what's the catch" His stock answer was "Email me at .........." So he obviously wanted to draw people in then get them hooked onto the car without going through ebay. Dodgy git, hope he gets what he deserves!
