Don't think that red, Imola is it, does it any favours IMO.

hmm..silver/grey or black may be a better colour with the carbon roof. I'm not that impressed with exterior styling, side gills look pants and bonnet vents not suited to bmw only jap cars. Lacks a more muscular appearance IMO.

No doubt it will be a BEAST of a car to drive tho

20" wheels may be better suited too (fill them arches..)

Looks great in that rear three quarters view with a bit of oversteer thrown in.
I like it, the wheels are a bit odd though.

Whatever colour it is the car looks wrong IMO. The silver/grey from Geneva looked much better.

Looks much better in a silver/grey/black/blue/white.  I don't like the overall styling of the new 3 series, but the Coupes look OK.  I am sure the lines on the M3 will look fine in the flesh on the road.

At least now its easier to spot a genuine M3 in your rear view mirror with that Carbon roof, thats a class act by BMW.  (The modified E36 1.8's with the M3 kits on always make me look twice lol).

Can't wait for the Top Gear review on it and then have it in a shootout with a few other competitors.

Will it stop? Are you infering to the colour scheme or as in brakes?????

I'm sure with the same e60 M5 discs that are supposedly going on....we can assume that it will stop and very quick!!

What makes you think the colur schemes are a disaster? Explain please

Tiko

We'll have to wait and see about the stopping.............

Don't believe anyone has said that the whole colour scheme is a disaster.... a number of people have however said that that red, Melbourne, or what ever it is does not suit the car and is a disaster. But that would just be their/my opinions, if you like that red then fine.

Edit: The dark wheels and red car may be why it looks wrong, not quite sure.

I just meant In my opion that red is not a good colour for it. as for the
stopping I was refering to the brakes even if they are the M5 item they will
be heavy cast iron jobbies I can't help thinking that they should just put a
call into Brembo and be let them sort it out.

IMO the light colours definitely suit it the best, i.e. light grey, light blue or white only.

Dark colours do nothing for it.

Maybe a designer out there can explain why dark colurs suit some cars and light colours suit others.

Maybe white is the new black.

Got to agree that red version looks like a halfords special. Black wheels look ok on a rally style car but not on a gorgeous upmarket high speed track car. Not on a bmw anyway. Except for the 330i that BMW car are running. The CSL wheels look much better in my opinion anyway. The grey also looks far better.

Overall though I'm not entirely convinced. Not by the pics anyway. I felt the same when the coupe first came out but now I have seen a few black ones with nice big alloys, it is totally growing on me. I have even seen a few nicely kitted up saloons. Have you noticed the rear arches on the saloons are more pronounced and look better than the coupe's with big wheels in them?

But I have to say that I remember when the E46 M3 came out. I loved that as soon as I laid my eyes on the pics!

There's a night and day difference between the 'official' pictures of the red car and the 'concept' from Geneva.

Brilliant

I have an Imola red e46 m3 and to be honest its not a colour that everyone likes at first but after a while it grows on you....

Paint the roof red and change those wheels and it'll be a savage looking car and as for the drive I think we all know what that'll be like!

It's all about the wheels..........I think.

I don't like the new three much, saloon, vert or coupe but you're right about tricked up saloons - I have a begrudging admiration for the 320si... especially in white. The alloys on it are great.
