Due to a back problem I am looking for a good pair of anthracite cloth
Recaro front seats like these for my 1987 E28...

Good price paid, will collect.

Would also consider BMW sports seats in grey cloth or black leather.

You could take the Recaro seats from any E24, E28, E30 etc and make them fit in your car if you are handy with a screwdriver to adapt the subframe.

The Recaros in the picture look sort of familiar, but they are not from a 1980's BMW.

Please don't laugh out loud but... take a look down the scrapyard for a go faster Vauxhall from the 80's early 90's.. they may have the seats you are looking for.. and it is dead easy to adapt the hardly worn passenger seat to fit the drivers side.

Hi Nick

Thanks for the info.

I had assumed that the seats in the pic were genuine BMW items as the
car appears to be an E28 auto and the ribbed anthracite cloth matches
exactly what's in my 1987 E28. I have seen these type of Recaros in some
early E24s, but the cloth was a check pattern (see pic from 1985 M635). I
find these seats more comfortable than the BMW sports seats, as they are
higher backed and this suits my 6' 5" frame.

Funny you should mention Vauxhalls...in a past life I used to have a
Cavalier SRi 130 with similar seats and they were great. If I managed to
source the right type of seats with different cloth, is the material still
available from BMW to re-cover them? If not I could go for black leather.

If anyone hears of some suitable seats, please let me know - there's a
drink in it!
