How much do you reckon a good condition 1972 3.0 CSL is worth ?

It depends how 'good'! Prices seem to be rising all the time at the moment. I think 10-12k would buy you a good one, excellent to concours £20k+

I got £5k for my rotten one a few years back, someone in Australia bout it....chassis 202 in white.

Priceless - but then I am a bit biased.

"Good" covers a huge range.  Like the comments made re the chap buying an E30 M3, you really do need to get down and poke these things about. My car is generally widely admired, but I know of bits that I will need to be sorted within the next year or so, and most cars are like that. 

Bottom line is they are worth whatever you can get for them, or are willing to pay for them.  If you are thinking of buying one, then look for the right one, and you won't be disappointed.  Like the M3, they kind of get under your skin........
