Hello. Do et20 style 5 (BBS RC090) wheels fit with new brake pads fitted on
an E30 M3, there seems to be lots of different views on this. I'm talking
about the E39 ones. I know that the 8 series ones are fine, different offset.
Will they fit OK as is, with they fit with squeal pins removed, will they only fit
with 5mm spacers or similar. They fit fine at the moment but the front
brakes are quite worn and there doesn't seem to be much clearance there.
The stock answer seems to be that each car is different but can that really be
the case? Confused as ever, Lyndon. Oh and I'm going to get my other set
powder coated - anyone else done this - do the centres still fit as I've always
thought that powder coat is thicker than paint, or does it depend who does
it? Lots of questions, sorry.

Hello Lyndon.

As you know I recently put a set of 8-Series Style 5's on my car. To cut a long story short: my brake pads are pretty un-worn and I needed 5mm spacers (I tried 3mm: not enough).

I too had heard that whether or not they fouled was random but personally I dont believe that it could be so hit and miss and attributed it to brake pad condition. I reckon people who fitted theirs when their pads were worn may find that they need spacers when the pads are renewed but I don't know for sure....

p.s. any news on the nuts 'n bolts?

Nick.

OK thanks for all the replies I wonder if you can get 5/6mm spacers with
hubcentric ring built in? I'm going to powder coat mine dark grey to make
them look less danny la rue
