i have recently bought the car of my dreams a '93 318is. one problem has me stumped though. i had all brake pads and discs changed but my warning light refuses to go out / reset itself. what could be the cause / solution? ------------- vrrroom vrrroommmm! chug chug vrrroom vrrroommm! If we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat? |

| As kbannon said it's probably the brake sensor or abs sensor that needs replacing. Had the same thing happen on replacing all my brakes a couple of years back. Subsequently replaced the brake sensors and all was back to normal. |

very little £5 or £6 from Euro Car Parts (don't know about the e36 but the e30 has a sensor on front passenger and rear drivers sides) many brands of pads come with a sensor. not necessarily - you are assuming that the pad comes with a built in sensor which not all do. You may need to take the pads out and insert the sensor.
