hi after some advice about a m3 e36 3.0l

the idle has be getting gradually more erratic until today when it stalled as i lock the garage, just wondering what could be causing it,

i also have a slight spluttering at normal temp, like a misfire but not as bad the car hasnt had new plugs for about 12,000 miles and has 2 green lights left till INSP 1, the o2 sensors were replaced in Aug so pretty sure they are fine.

any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did it appear to mis-fire before it cut out? If it did, maybe a spark plug coil, if not IACV playing up/sticking? Could also have an air leak?

HTH

no the revs just slowly died off, IACV??? i guess its something which controls the idle, where would be a good  place to look for the air leak
