Does anyone know if 2 pack paints and hardeners are compatible between different manufacturers, e.g. Glasurit paint and Lesonal hardner?

hi.
i am a paint sprayer for a large merc maindealer using glasurit paint. If it were me i would stick to the same brand hardener as you have different types such as, hs (high solid) & ms (medium solid), & whilst you may get away with using different hardener you may have problems with curing, drop in gloss, polishing & application. If you are stuck & you have to use it i suggest you spray a test panel first (old panel or sheet of metal) & see what result you get.

Thanks for the feedback. I use the 2-pack for touching up stone chips and small rust spots with a small brush as it gives a good result and can be sanded and polished to blend in.
My main concern was that they wouldn't mix at all and I'd be at the loss of the tin of hardner.
I have the receipt so I could bring it back and get the Glasurit hardner.

If you are just touching up with a brush then you should be ok with the different hardener but to be on the safe side i would try a test piece first .

Is this the best method of touching up ?
I've always used the touch up sticks with a brush you get from dealers.
Whats in those ?
I have to admit they never seem any good on metallics.

The quality of touch-up sticks can vary, but the experience I've had with them is bad, poor colour match, poor adhesion, etc.
By getting some 2-pack mixed you will have the perfect colour match, but there are health & safety issues with 2-pack and it needs to be used with great caution as it contains iso-cyanates and other nasties.
The other downside is that the min you can get mixed is usually 0.25L and the paint and hardner once opened begins to deteriorate and will go off after a couple of years(probably less, but I kept using the stock I had!).
The smallest tin of hardner available in the local paint shops for me is 0.5L, which is alot of waste.
Also not sure about its compatibility with modern water based finishes.
