 I have recently aquired a white E12 M535i and am looking for some advice. Browsing the internet I found several pictures of E12 M535i's sporting M stripes along both flanks and also across the front spoiler. Were these offered by BMW at the time as an option or are they 'aftermarket' items? Secondly are these stripes still available to purchase? if not does anyone know of any companies who would be able to replicate them?

excellent car to get Pete,

The motorsport stripes were as far as I am aware a no cost delete option, they were indeed installed along the sides, rear and front (on the spoiler). To find new would be very difficult, but there are a number of companies that could replicate them for you, but I think you would need to supply a pattern for them to use. You could try and contact BMW's own heritage set up, 'mobile tradition' they may be able to help.
